This box is coil built from an iron rich clay, the surface is scraped to reveal the rough texture of the clay. The resulting finish comes from the action of wood firing. It has an ash/nuka glaze to the inside with a floral motif impressed in the base.

The lid is made from Oak, it is carved to fit with an Oak locating peg and a ceramichandle with copper nails, finished with Danish oil.
